Travel Information

Visas
Guests planning on visiting for less than 90 days may obtain a visa at the port of entry free of charge.
Nothing is required prior to travel.
However, since we are a wildlife sanctuary, all volunteers require a temporary work or study permit.
This process takes 2-4 months.
Application forms must be sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Requirements can be found
here.
Visas are valid for up to 90 days, with the ability to extend an additional 90 days per year.

Vaccinations
For your safety, in order to visit Namibia, the following vaccinations are recommended upon entering the country:
• COVID-19, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid Fever, Yellow Fever, Rabies

The following are routine vaccinations for Namibia and most countries.
If you did not receive these vaccinations yet they are also recommended:
• Meningitis, Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR), Polio, Shingles, Chickenpox, TD/Tdap (Tetanus), Pneumonia, Influenza

There is no vaccine for Malaria, however there are malaria pills that can be taken.
This is something that you need to take on a regular basis, and can come with some side effects.
Namibia is not a popular country in Africa for Malaria, therefore it is optional.
Mosquito nets and repellent are always recommended.

Airports/Transfers
We recommend flying to Botswana, into Kasane International Airport (BBK).
That is where our transport service can pick you up and drop you off.
The drive from Kasane airport to the sanctuary is just under 1 hour.
After booking your trip, you may submit flight information to us no later than 30 days before your travel date.
We will monitor flight changes once submitted.
